Professional Curriculum.
From 1st July 1989 consultant for the
preservation, conservation and restoration of books, archival materials
and graphic art and managing-director of "De Zilveren Passer"
(The Silver Compasses) a specialized workshop for the preservation,
conservation and restoration of books, archival materials and graphic
art.
- Since 1st September 1987 part-time lecturer in
Graphic Art and Antiquarian Books in the Center for Professional
Trade Education (CMO) in St.-Niklaas (B) and since the 1st
of September 1996 also in Aalst en Oudenaarde. (CEMOV) (B)
- Guest-lecturer at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel
(Free University of Brussels) since 1998 for the Interuniversity
Courses of Archivist. The subject is Preservation Management,
Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Planning.
- Lecturer at the Library School Gent since 2000
for the Initiation to Library, Documentation and Information
Sciences Section Archives. The subject of the course is Preservation
Theory and Practical Exercices.
- Training of library, archive and museumpersonnel
in basics of preservation (theory and practice). Courses organised
by the Town Council of Bruges and the VVBAD (Flemish Association
of Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centers) since 1998.
- Traing of library and archive personnel, in situ,
in preservation theory and practice.
Miscellaneous:
- From 1983 until 1987 part-time librarian and
from 1987 until 1989 honorary secretary of the Flemish Guild
of Handbookbinders - Ghent (B) with special responsibility for
the organization of specialized courses in bookbinding and the
organization of the IVde Grote Prijs van de Vlaamse Boekbindkunst
(IVth Grand-Prix of Flemish Bookbinding Art) 1989.
- Since February 1994 member of several Examination
Boards for the recruitment of bookbinding and preservation personnel
in libraries and archives.
- Member of the jury of the Grote Prijs van de
Vlaamse Boekbindkunst, editions VI, VII and VIII (Grand-Prix
of Flemish Bookbinding Art) Ghent 1994, 1996 and 1998.
